Genesis 13

Genesis 13

Abram and his nephew, Lot, have grown so wealthy in livestock that the land cannot support them both. To prevent conflict, Abram generously offers Lot first choice of where to settle. Lot chooses the lush, well-watered plain near the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. Abram remains in Canaan. After Lot departs, God reaffirms the covenant, promising Abram and his descendants all the land his eyes can see. Abram then settles in Hebron and builds an altar there to worship the Lord.
