Genesis 14

Genesis 14

A coalition of four powerful kings invades Canaan and captures Lot and his possessions from Sodom. When Abram hears the news, he quickly gathers 318 trained men from his household and successfully pursues the invaders, rescuing Lot and recovering all the goods. Upon his return, Abram is met by Melchizedek, the mysterious king of Salem and priest of God Most High. Abram gives Melchizedek a tenth of all the spoils. Abram then refuses to take any of the recovered goods, ensuring his wealth comes solely from God.
