Genesis 22

Genesis 22

God issues the ultimate test of Abraham's faith: He commands Abraham to take his beloved son, Isaac, to Mount Moriah and offer him as a burnt offering. In an unparalleled display of faith and obedience, Abraham prepares to carry out the command. Just as he raises the knife, an angel of the Lord intervenes, confirming Abraham's total devotion to God. God provides a ram caught in a thicket as a substitute sacrifice. God solemnly reaffirms His covenant and blessings because Abraham did not withhold his only son.
