Genesis 24

Genesis 24

Abraham, now old, commits his most trusted servant to the critical mission of finding a wife for his son, Isaac, from his own extended family in Mesopotamia, not from the Canaanites. The servant prays for a clear sign: that the woman would offer water to him and his ten camels. Immediately, Rebekah, the granddaughter of Abraham's brother Nahor, meets all the conditions. The servant travels back with Rebekah, who willingly consents to the marriage. Isaac marries Rebekah, and she comforts him after the death of his mother, Sarah.
