Genesis 26

Genesis 26

A famine forces Isaac to relocate to Gerar, where he repeats his father Abraham's mistake by falsely claiming his wife, Rebekah, is his sister. King Abimelech discovers the truth but protects Isaac. God appears to Isaac, reaffirming the covenant He made with Abraham. Isaac prospers greatly, which sparks jealousy among the Philistines, who seal up his wells. Isaac calmly moves and re-digs wells, eventually coming to an agreement with Abimelech. God instructs Isaac to stay in the Promised Land, promising to bless him for his father's sake.
