Genesis 27

Genesis 27

Rebekah and Jacob conspire to deceive blind, elderly Isaac into giving Jacob the blessing of the firstborn. Rebekah instructs Jacob to cover himself with goat skins to mimic Esau's hairy arms and wear his clothes to mask his scent. Jacob prepares the meal, and Isaac, despite deep suspicion, gives Jacob the irreplaceable blessing. When Esau returns and realizes the deception, he is heartbroken and vows to kill Jacob. Rebekah quickly sends Jacob away to her brother Laban in Haran to escape Esau's murderous rage.
