Genesis 28

Genesis 28

Fleeing Esau, Jacob travels toward Haran. While sleeping with his head on a stone, he experiences a profound vision: a ladder (or staircase) extending from earth to heaven, with angels ascending and descending. God appears to Jacob, reaffirming the Abrahamic Covenant—promising him the land, countless descendants, and the blessing of all nations through his line. Jacob names the place Bethel (""House of God""), sets up the stone as a memorial pillar, and vows that if God protects him, he will serve the Lord and give Him a tenth of everything.
