Genesis 29

Genesis 29

Jacob arrives in Haran and meets Rachel, Laban's beautiful younger daughter, at a well. Jacob immediately falls in love and agrees to serve Laban for seven years to marry her. On the wedding night, Laban deceives Jacob, substituting the older, veiled daughter, Leah. Jacob is furious but agrees to serve another seven years for Rachel. Leah, though unloved by Jacob, is blessed with four sons: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah (the lineage of Christ), while Rachel remains barren.
