Genesis 39

Genesis 39

Joseph is sold as a slave to Potiphar, the captain of the guard in Egypt. God blesses Joseph, and he quickly rises to become the head of Potiphar's entire household. Potiphar's wife finds Joseph attractive and tries to seduce him, but Joseph, demonstrating integrity, repeatedly refuses her advances, saying he cannot sin against God. When she falsely accuses him of assault, Joseph is unjustly thrown into the King's prison. Even there, the Lord is with Joseph, and he rises to a position of authority over the other prisoners.
