Genesis 41

Genesis 41

Pharaoh has two disturbing dreams—seven fat cows eaten by seven thin cows, and seven healthy ears of grain swallowed by seven shriveled ears. None of his magicians can interpret them. The chief cupbearer finally remembers Joseph and his ability to interpret dreams. Joseph is quickly brought before Pharaoh and attributes the interpretation to God. He explains the dreams predict seven years of great abundance, followed by seven years of severe famine. Pharaoh, impressed by Joseph’s wisdom, immediately appoints him as Second-in-Command over all of Egypt.
