Genesis 44

Genesis 44

Joseph tests his brothers one last time. He orders his steward to fill their sacks with grain and to hide his silver cup in Benjamin's sack. As the brothers depart, the steward catches up to them and searches the sacks, finding the cup in Benjamin's. The brothers, devastated, return to Joseph. Judah steps forward and delivers a passionate plea to Joseph, offering himself as a slave in Benjamin’s place so their father, Jacob, is not heartbroken. This act of sacrificial love proves their changed character.
