Genesis 8

Genesis 8

As the waters recede, God remembers Noah and sends a wind across the earth to dry the land. The ark rests upon the mountains of Ararat. Noah first sends out a raven, then a dove, which returns, signaling the persistent water. A week later, the dove returns with an olive leaf, indicating life is restored. Finally, Noah and his family exit the ark after over a year inside. Noah’s first act is to build an altar and offer sacrifices to God, who in response promises never again to curse the ground or destroy all life by flood.
