Genesis 9

Genesis 9

God establishes His covenant with Noah and all future generations. He blesses them to be fruitful and multiply, reiterates man's dominion over the animals, and allows them to eat meat (but prohibits eating blood). God sets the rainbow in the sky as the visible sign of His promise: never again will a flood destroy all life on Earth. The chapter concludes with the shameful sin of Noah's son Ham and Noah’s subsequent blessing of Shem and Japheth, setting up future national relationships.
