Hebrews 5

Hebrews 5

The author explains the qualifications of the High Priest, who must be able to sympathize with human weakness. Jesus, though sinless, learned obedience through what He suffered. Jesus was appointed by God as a High Priest in the order of Melchizedek, a unique, eternal order. The author then chastises his readers for their spiritual immaturity, stating they should be teachers by now but still need milk instead of solid food, urging them to grow up in their understanding.
