Hebrews 7

Hebrews 7

The author resumes his argument for Christ's superiority, focusing on Melchizedek, the king and priest who blessed Abraham. Melchizedek is presented as a type of Christ because he has no recorded genealogy, symbolizing a permanent priesthood. The Law's priesthood (Levitical) was imperfect and changing, but the priesthood of Christ is permanent and superior, established by an oath. Therefore, Christ is able to save completely those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.
