Hosea 10

Hosea 10

Israel is compared to an empty vine that produces fruit only for itself, not for God. God condemns their superficial religious observances, noting that the people divide their heart between God and idols. God promises to break down their altars and destroy their sacred pillars. God pleads with them to "Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground." God warns that because they have trusted in their own military might, war will break out among their tribes.
