Hosea 11

Hosea 11

God expresses His deep paternal love for Israel, recalling how He called them out of Egypt when they were a child. God describes teaching them to walk and leading them with cords of human kindness, but they constantly turned to Baal. God laments, "How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I surrender you, Israel?" God’s love and compassion burn within Him, preventing Him from destroying them utterly like Admah and Zeboiim. God promises they will return from exile, led by the Lord, who will roar like a lion.
