Hosea 2

Hosea 2

God continues the powerful allegory of the adulterous wife, now pleading with Israel to abandon her lovers (idols and foreign alliances). God declares He will strip her naked and make her barren, like the day she was born, to punish her for seeking good things from her lovers. However, God promises a future restoration: He will allure her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her heart. God will betroth her to Himself forever in righteousness, justice, loving-kindness, and mercy, renewing the covenant completely.
