Isaiah 11

Isaiah 11

The prophet proclaims a brilliant prophecy about the future Messianic King. A shoot will come forth from the stump of Jesse (David’s father), and a Branch will grow from his roots. This king will be endowed with the Spirit of the Lord—the Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord. He will judge the poor with righteousness. In his reign, peace will cover the earth: the wolf will live with the lamb, and a little child will lead them.
