Isaiah 13

Isaiah 13

This chapter begins a series of prophecies concerning the judgment of the nations, starting with a devastating oracle against Babylon. The prophet sees the Day of the Lord coming—a terrifying, cosmic judgment where the stars lose their light and the sun is darkened. God will use the Medes to destroy Babylon, turning the glorious city into a ruin, a dwelling place for wild animals. Babylon's arrogance and pride will lead to its complete and permanent destruction.
