Isaiah 18

Isaiah 18

The prophet delivers an obscure oracle to the land beyond the rivers of Cush (likely Ethiopia/Egypt), which sends ambassadors by papyrus boats. The prophet tells these messengers to return to their tall, powerful nation, which is feared far and wide. The ultimate message is that when the time comes for the final harvest, the powerful nations will see God’s great work and bring their gifts and tribute to the Lord of hosts on Mount Zion, acknowledging His sovereignty.
