Isaiah 19

Isaiah 19

This chapter contains a complex oracle against Egypt. God announces He will strike Egypt with judgment, causing civil war, economic collapse, and the failure of the Nile River (their life source). The wisest counselors of Egypt will fail, and the people will panic. However, the oracle concludes with a remarkable promise: the Lord will make Himself known to the Egyptians, who will respond by building an altar to the Lord. God will bless Egypt and Assyria, declaring them His people, alongside Israel, His inheritance.
