Isaiah 24

Isaiah 24

This chapter describes a final, cosmic judgment that will affect the entire earth. The prophet foretells a time when the earth will be utterly emptied, desolate, and defiled because the inhabitants have broken God's eternal covenant. The earth will reel and stagger like a drunkard. The prophecy culminates in the reign of the Lord of hosts on Mount Zion, when God will finally punish the spiritual powers in the heavens and the kings on earth, and the moon and sun will be put to shame by God's glorious presence.
