Isaiah 2

Isaiah 2

The prophet proclaims a glorious vision of the future, when the Mountain of the Lord’s Temple will be established as the highest of the mountains. All nations will flow to it to learn God’s Law, and God will judge among the nations, leading to universal peace: they will beat their swords into plowshares. Isaiah warns the proud and arrogant people of Judah that the Day of the Lord is coming—a terrifying judgment when all human pride, idols, and fortified cities will be utterly humbled. He urges them to cease trusting in mere mortals.
