Isaiah 46

Isaiah 46

The prophet mocks the Babylonian idols, Bel and Nebo, describing them as burdensome statues that must be carried by tired animals. These gods are helpless to save themselves. God contrasts this with Himself, declaring, "I have made you and I will carry you. I will sustain you and rescue you." God challenges the people to compare Him to any idol. God concludes by reminding them of His plan to raise up a man from the East (Cyrus) to execute His purpose against Babylon swiftly.
