Isaiah 48

Isaiah 48

God addresses the stubborn, hard-hearted people of Israel, who swear by the name of the Lord but live in hypocrisy. God reminds them that He predicted the events of the past to prove His sovereignty. God announces that for His own name's sake, He has restrained His anger and did not utterly destroy them. God reveals the new thing: He is sending Israel out of Babylon. He urges them to "Go out from Babylon," and promises that God will provide water for them in the wilderness.
