Isaiah 56

Isaiah 56

The prophet urges the people to maintain justice and righteousness, for God’s salvation is near. God declares that the benefits of the covenant are now available to all who join themselves to the Lord, including the foreigner and the eunuch, provided they hold fast to the covenant and keep the Sabbath holy. God states, "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples." The chapter concludes with a fierce condemnation of the corrupt, blind, and greedy watchmen (leaders) of Israel.
