Isaiah 5

The chapter begins with the Song of the Vineyard, where Israel is compared to a vineyard planted by God with great care, expecting good grapes (righteousness). However, the vineyard produced only wild, sour grapes (injustice). God announces He will remove the hedge (protection), allowing the vineyard to be trampled and destroyed. The prophet then pronounces six woes (judgments) on the wicked leaders of Judah for their greed, drunkenness, arrogance, injustice, and moral corruption. God will send a foreign army to swiftly destroy the nation.
