Isaiah 9

Isaiah 9

Despite the darkness of judgment, the prophet proclaims a glorious promise of future light and deliverance for the northern regions of Galilee, which will bear the brunt of the attack. Isaiah prophesies the birth of the ultimate king, the Messiah, whose future government will be one of endless peace. This child will be called: "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." The chapter then details God's judgment on the Northern Kingdom of Israel for their stubborn pride, arrogance, and lack of repentance.
