James 5

James 5

James delivers a sharp warning to the rich who have obtained their wealth by oppressing the poor. He warns that their wealth will rot and their fine clothes will be moth-eaten. James instructs believers to be patient until the Lord’s coming, comparing the situation to a farmer patiently waiting for the harvest. He commands them to not swear oaths and to confess their sins to one another. He concludes by stating that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
