Job 27

Job 27

In his final defense, Job swears an oath of innocence, declaring before God that he will not speak wickedly or utter a lie. Job maintains that he will hold fast to his integrity until his very last breath. Job then agrees with his friends' earlier statements about the fate of the wicked, confirming that a hypocrite cannot call upon God and that the wicked will be ruined and their houses destroyed. Job uses his friends' own arguments to prove that their accusations against him are false, as he is not experiencing the destruction of a hypocrite.
