Job 2

Job 2

Satan challenges God again, claiming that Job has only refrained from cursing God because his body remains unharmed. God gives Satan permission to afflict Job’s body, but warns him not to take Job's life. Job is immediately struck with painful, festering boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. His own wife urges him to "Curse God and die!" Job rebukes her, saying, "Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?" Job’s three friends, Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar, arrive and sit with him in silence for seven days and seven nights, overwhelmed by his immense suffering.
