Job 30

Job 30

The contrast with the present is devastating. Job describes his current state as one of utter humiliation. He is now mocked by the lowest, most despised members of society—men younger than he, whose fathers were so poor they could not be used with his sheepdogs. Job laments that his honor has been stripped away by God, and he is now tortured by pain, disease, and darkness. He describes himself crying out to God, who refuses to answer, leaving him broken and despairing, a brother to jackals and an object of scorn.
