Job 6

Job 6

Job answers Eliphaz, dismissing his consolation as empty and cruel. Job defends his previous outburst, arguing that his anguish and calamity are so heavy they fully justify his bitter words. He wishes that God would crush him immediately, bringing his miserable life to an end. Job then criticizes his friends for their lack of genuine sympathy, comparing them to a deceitful, dried-up brook that disappoints thirsty travelers. Job challenges his friends to point out his specific sin instead of offering vague condemnations.
