John 19

John 19

Roman governor Pilate has Jesus brutally scourged, still attempting to release Him, but the Jewish leaders refuse and insist on crucifixion. Pilate finally yields to the crowd’s threat of reporting him to Caesar. Jesus carries His own cross to Golgotha and is crucified. Pilate writes the charge above Him: "JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS." After Jesus commits His Spirit to the Father, He dies. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus secretly bury Jesus’s body.
