John 1

John 1

John opens with a profound theological statement: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The Word (Jesus) became flesh and dwelt among us. John the Baptist identifies Jesus as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Jesus calls His first disciples, including Andrew, Peter, Philip, and Nathanael. Nathanael, initially skeptical, is convinced when Jesus tells him He saw him sitting under the fig tree.
