John 9

Jesus heals a man who had been blind from birth by mixing mud with saliva and telling him to wash in the Pool of Siloam. The formerly blind man is interrogated by the Pharisees, who become angry that the man insists Jesus must be from God. The Pharisees excommunicate the man. Jesus later finds the man and reveals Himself. The chapter concludes with Jesus pointing out that those who claim to see (the Pharisees) are the ones who are truly blind.

Queen Esther risks her life by approaching the King uninvited. The King receives her, and she invites him and Haman to two successive banquets. Haman leaves the first banquet filled with pride and orders a gallows built for Mordecai.

Esther 6

The King suffers a sleepless night and reads the royal chronicles, discovering that Mordecai was never rewarded for saving his life. The King forces Haman to publicly honor Mordecai in grand style.
