Jonah 1

Jonah 1

God commands the prophet Jonah to go to the great wicked city of Nineveh and prophesy against it. Jonah, refusing to go to Israel's enemy, flees in the opposite direction, boarding a ship bound for Tarshish. A massive storm arises, threatening to sink the vessel. The pagan sailors cast lots and discover Jonah is the cause of the storm. Jonah admits his disobedience and instructs them to throw him overboard. The sailors reluctantly do so, and the sea immediately grows calm. A great fish swallows Jonah.
