Jonah 3

Jonah 3

God gives Jonah the commission to preach in Nineveh a second time. This time, Jonah immediately obeys, traveling to the vast city and proclaiming a simple, terrifying message: "Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown." To Jonah's surprise, the Ninevites, from the king down to the common people, immediately believe the warning. They respond with universal repentance, fasting, and wearing sackcloth. God sees their genuine change of heart and mercifully relents, deciding not to bring the disaster He had planned.
