Jonah 4

Jonah 4

Instead of rejoicing over Nineveh’s repentance and God's mercy, Jonah becomes angry and prays that God would take his life, revealing that he fled originally because he knew God was gracious. Jonah goes outside the city to await God’s final judgment. God provides a plant to shade Jonah, making him happy. God then sends a worm to kill the plant and a scorching wind, making Jonah miserable. God confronts Jonah, saying if he can mourn a plant he didn't create, shouldn't God have compassion on the massive city of Nineveh?
