Joshua 24

Joshua 24

Joshua gathers the people at Shechem for a final covenant renewal ceremony. He reviews Israel's history from Abraham through the conquest, emphasizing God’s gracious acts of deliverance. Joshua then gives the people the famous challenge: "Choose this day whom you will serve." The people solemnly declare, "We will serve the Lord." Joshua sets up a large stone under an oak tree as a permanent witness to their oath. The chapter concludes with the death and burial of Joshua and the burial of Joseph's bones, fulfilling Jacob's request.
