Joshua 3

Joshua 3

God prepares the Israelites to cross the Jordan River. Joshua instructs the priests to carry the Ark of the Covenant and walk ahead of the people, keeping a large distance. When the feet of the priests carrying the Ark touch the water's edge, the Jordan River miraculously stops flowing, piling up in a heap upstream, allowing the entire nation to walk across on dry ground. This miracle, performed during the river’s flood stage, solidifies Joshua's leadership in the eyes of the people, just as the Red Sea miracle established Moses.
