Joshua 8

Joshua 8

With the sin purged, God instructs Joshua to attack Ai again using a strategy of ambush. Joshua sets a large ambush force behind the city. He then lures the king and his army out of the city by pretending to retreat. Once the city is undefended, the ambush force rushes in and sets Ai on fire. The Israelites then turn and destroy the fleeing army. Afterward, Joshua builds an altar on Mount Ebal, writes the Law of Moses on stones, and reads the blessings and curses to the entire assembly.
