Judges 14

Judges 14

Samson is drawn to a Philistine woman in Timnah and demands his parents arrange the marriage, against their wishes and God's law. On the way, Samson is attacked by a young lion, which he miraculously tears apart with his bare hands. Later, he finds a swarm of bees and honey inside the lion's carcass. He uses this as the basis for a riddle at the wedding feast: "Out of the eater came something to eat..." When the Philistines bribe his wife to reveal the answer, Samson is furious and kills thirty Philistines to pay the forfeit, ending the marriage.
