Lamentations 2

Lamentations 2

The prophet acknowledges that the destruction of Jerusalem is the direct result of God's fierce anger. God is seen actively carrying out the judgment, tearing down the city, the strongholds, and the Temple itself, showing no pity. God has poured out His fury on the city, and the streets are filled with the bodies of the dead. The prophet describes the terrible famine, where mothers cook their own children. Jeremiah expresses deep sorrow, weeping until his eyes are dry, and urges the people to cry out to the Lord throughout the night.
