Leviticus 14

Leviticus 14

This chapter details the intricate ritual for cleansing a person healed of leprosy. The ceremony involves a sacrifice, the use of two birds, cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and hyssop. One bird is killed, and the living bird is dipped in the blood and set free to symbolize the patient’s release. The patient then shaves all their hair and bathes. After seven days, a final series of offerings, including a special Guilt Offering, are performed by the priest to completely restore the cleansed person to the community.
