Leviticus 17

Leviticus 17

God strictly mandates that all sacrifices involving the slaughter of animals for meat must be brought to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting (the Tabernacle). This ensures that the blood is properly handled by the priests and dedicated to God, preventing the Israelites from slipping into pagan worship or offering sacrifices to other gods in unauthorized places. The prohibition against eating or drinking blood is forcefully repeated, as the life of the flesh is in the blood, which is reserved for atonement.
