Leviticus 26

Leviticus 26

This is the great chapter of blessings and curses linked directly to the covenant. God promises incredible blessings for obedience: abundant rain, peaceful security, successful harvests, and above all, God's promise to dwell among them. Conversely, God warns of terrible curses for disobedience: drought, sickness, defeat by enemies, exile from the land, and the eventual destruction of the sanctuary. The chapter concludes with a promise that if the people repent while in exile, God will remember His covenant and restore them.

Ezekiel 15

God compares Jerusalem to the vine of a wild grape, which is useless except as fuel for fire. This symbolizes God's plan to destroy the city and make it desolate.

Ezekiel 16

God describes Jerusalem's history as a long, detailed allegory of a foundling baby who was saved and married but then became a promiscuous prostitute to foreign idols.
