Leviticus 27

Leviticus 27

The final chapter provides supplementary rules concerning the valuation and redemption of things dedicated to the Lord—people, animals, or land—that have been vowed to God. It establishes the monetary value for people of different ages and genders if they are vowed and need to be bought back. It prohibits redeeming animals that are already clean (like cattle). The chapter concludes by confirming the law of the tithe: a tenth of everything produced by the land belongs to the Lord, and it is holy.
