This chapter outlines the regulations for the Peace Offering (or Fellowship Offering), which is a voluntary act of worship symbolizing a state of peace and fellowship between God, the worshiper, and the priests. The animal can be male or female without defect. After the worshiper kills the animal, the fat is burned on the altar as "food for God" (a pleasing aroma). The meat is shared: a portion goes to the priests, and the rest is eaten by the worshiper's family and friends in a communal meal.
